Ramgoolam Stop Partying Maccareena Style and Refresh on his Maths

The leader of the 2000 Remake alliance, Sir Anerood Jugnauth (SAJ) referred to the PM Navin Ramgoolam’s “bad mathematical skills” after the latter proclaimed victory at the recent municipal elections.
SAJ was speaking at a press conference held by the MMM/MSM alliance in the presence of MMM leader Paul Bérenger on Saturday.

“Ramgoolam has the guts to say he won the municipal elections. I wonder where he learned his mathematics. He wants to warp people’s perception of him and make people believe in his illusion,” said SAJ.

He insisted the figures were clear-cut and that it was up to the population to decide whether the government received a “correction.” He added the Labour Party/Parti Mauricien Social Democrate (PTr/PMSD) alliance received a shock during the recent municipal elections and congratulated the population for voting to “clean out the municipalities.” The former President of the republic invited the governing party to “make merry while they could” before the general elections.

“The village elections created a wave, which was reinforced during the municipal elections and will transform into a tsunami for the 2015 general elections,” said Jugnauth. Both leaders are still ready to work with the Mouvement Mauricien Social Démocrate and requested its leader Eric Guimbeau “to shoulder his responsibilities and bring the promised wind of change in Curepipe.”

Ramgoolam "Our Supporters Prefer to Watch Football"

The Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam conceded that there were flaws in the government alliance campaigns for the municipal elections. He added that abstention also proved costly to the Labour Party/Parti Mauricien Social Democrate alliance.  Abstention is a term in election procedure for when a participant in a vote either does not go to vote (on election day).  Many would like to say to Ramgoolam that this is not the case  and the majority of citizens just do not trust him enough to cast a vote because of the way he has betrayed his country and people with scandals, corruption and of course Mauritius Gold Medal for drug addicts.

“The mentality developing among our own members is a negative one. We need ‘educate’ them. Some of our members preferred watching football instead of actively engaging in our campaigns,” said Ramgoolam.

He also congratulated the 2000 Remake alliance for winning in three of the five towns. A recent opinion pole suggested that many Mauritians would rather an early election rather than suffer 2 more years of his dictatorship.

Cehl Meeah vs Women Doing Politics?

cehl meeah islamApparently, the best way to have mass media coverage in a small country like our’s is to publicly talk nonsense or even have a completely biased opinion, expressed using democracy as a shield. Once in a blue moon, the leader of the political party FSM, Mr Cehl Meeah comes to the front of the local political arena to do so. This time, it’s a blatant affirmation about how women have no right to be involved in politics.

Two days ago, during a political meeting at Vallée Pitot, the leader of the FSM, Cehl Meeah indirectly expressed his inner thought and core belief which has been haunting him since years: “Les femmes n’ont pas leur place en politique“.
While we fully understand that opinion differs in our peaceful democratic country, Mr Meeah seems to forget that he is doing politics in the Republic of Mauritius, and not some: Somalia or Afghanistan or even Iran where Islamic laws and belief take precedence over any other laws.
Obviously after this great announcement by Mr Meeah, reactions and protests against the same have been showering all around the country. Nice way to get public and media attention, well, at least better than Room 216.

Remake 2000 Victory to the Mauritian Citizens

The suspense is over, the election of 90 municipal councillors for the five municipalities on the island was finally counted on Monday, with the Remake 2000 (MMM/MSM alliance) emerging as the winners in Beau Bassin/Rose Hill, Curepipe and Port Louis with 53 seats over the main political rival party PTr/PMSD with 36 seats and one seat in  Curepipe for MMSD.
The Remake 2000 won unanimously in Beau Bassin/Rose Hill with all 18 candidates elected as councillors.

Thirty two women in all; 18 from the MMM/MSM and 14 from PTr/PMSD were elected as councillors under the quota imposed in the new Local Government Act.

At a celebratory meeting held in Quatre Bornes, MMM leader Paul Bérenger stated: "Remake 2000 has gained strength on a national level and the general elections will follow suit very soon," he said. He also claimed that they would have had the upper hand in Curepipe as well had it not been for the MMSD.

MMM secretary general Rajesh Bhagwan stated that he is looking forward to the stale faces the PTr/PMSD members will have in Parliament on Tuesday. "Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam will have to take pills to control his blood pressure in order to sleep tonight. This is a lesson for all of them," he said.

Bhagwan stressed that the MMM/MSM won despite the presence of ministers in the polling centres like "bats during litchi season"; bribes such as jobs, macaroni or last minute asphalting of roads and the anti-Remake 2000 campaign led by the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. "This victory is an anniversary gift to me, since I was elected 30 years ago in December 1982 for the first time during the municipal elections," he said.

MSM leader Sir Anerood Jugnauth stated the choices made during the municipal elections demonstrate that the population pledges its allegiance to the MMM/MSM.

Reaction
“We accomplished our task and I want to thank all the officers who have worked tirelessly since November 1, to ensure the smooth running of the elections. Despite  claims to have recounts in some centers, only in Ward 4 in Port Louis, the Returning Officer has acceded to the request of the recount because there was a difference of only four votes. However, despite the recount, the ranking has not changed. It has even been suggested to candidates who want a recount to use the election petition of the Supreme Court within 21 days," said Irfan Raman, the Electoral Commissioner following the announcement of municipal election results.

SAJ, Bérenger confident of victory, demand clean sweep in municipal polls

All 90 Mouvement Socialiste Militant (MSM)/Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM) alliance candidates for the municipal elections were present at the congress held at Quatre Bornes on Friday. This was the last congress for the political party to mobilise the public before the municipal elections on December 9. During the congress, the leader of both parties had the same message to convey, “To urge people to vote early and ensure they vote till the end and remain active.”

Present at the congress, the leader of Remake 2000, Sir Anerood Jugnauth stated the candidates are competent, sincere and hardworking people in contrast to those who are currently in the municipalities.

He added that they will bring changes in the towns and developments.

“There is a need to make a clean sweep of the councillors at the municipalities because the population is fed up with the mismanagement that has taken place during the past seven years,” said SAJ.

“This change is important for future generations to live in a good environment,” said SAJ.

He stated the present government is only here to make money.

The country is heading towards a dictatorship and our institutions are becoming corrupt.

“The Labour Party claims that they put people first but in fact they put their people first, as they are nominating people on the eve of municipal elections” added SAJ.

MMM leader Paul Bérenger stated: “We are confident that we will win and it will be 5-0 win.”

“The alliance is presenting a great team that will develop the municipalities and come up with reforms that will improve the lives of citizens,” he said.

He added that the change in municipalities will be beneficial for the whole country.

“Just like the village elections when the PM Navin Ramgoolam received a shock, he will get an even bigger shock on Monday,” said SAJ.

Navin Tries to Gain Political Following by Tarnishing SAJ's Reputation with Lies

At a public meeting held in Vacoas on Friday, the Prime Minister Dr Navin Ramgoolam, revealed that Sir Anerood Jugnauth (SAJ), during his presidency, had asked him to cover up the MedPoint saga following the resignation of six Mouvement Socialiste Militant (MSM) ministers from the Government.

Ramgoolam said: “SAJ told me to cover up the investigation and in return five ministers will again join government and Maya Hanoomanjee will be out. But, I refused to do so.” This is a statement from Ramgoolam so its authenticity must be questioned as he is known to be a compulsive liar and a playboy.

On my part it is my adamant conviction that this government is the worst one, the most incompetent we have had since our independence. The sooner we get rid of it, the better. This is my opinion. We are in a democratic country. It is my right to think in this way. It is immaterial to me whether you are agreeable to my line of thinking or not.

Anyone without political blinkers, will tell you that the country is heading headlong to the dogs, especially with the mountain of scandals, fraud and corruption, the total absence of law and order, with a minimum of one brutal crime per week along with a gold medal for drug trafficking on the African Continent. If as Prime Minister, with all the powers he holds, he has been a flop in redressing the situation in the country, who will believe that he will be able to steer the ship of the state to bon port with a presidency with full powers! “Excepté so ban avaler koulev!”

Yes there may have been a scandal involving  the MSM but I can assure you Ramgoolam was fully involved in the scandal to tarnish the reputation of the party. Now SAJ is back to business he will surley put these tyrants behind bars and adress the issues for the people of Mauritius.
